Blast their first album "Born of the Cauldon" this Metal Friday. Soak in the impeccable guitar tone and revel in that incredible album cover art by Lionel Baker II (you can view more of his artwork here, click on the album links).
"Wonder had gone away, and he had forgotten that all life is only a set of pictures in the brain, among which there is no difference betwixt those born of real things and those born of inward dreamings, and no cause to value the one above the other." --H.P. Lovecraft, The Silver Key
I think you'll appreciate this quote from Howie Bentley: “I think sword-and-sorcery, horror, the occult, and fantasy in general is a defining factor in heavy metal. Heavy metal goes beyond music, it is about a state of mind. I often mention that Robert E. Howard was writing heavy metal almost fifty years before the first Black Sabbath album was recorded. He was just expressing this aesthetic through literature instead of music.”
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more.
Take my virtual high-five (and Bentley too). Heavy metal is absolutely the music of the fantastic.
