The irony of it all is...
... I don't even have a subscription to HBO, so if you're looking for episode-by-episode reviews of A Game of Thrones, you've come to the wrong place. I have read the books though and I'll be picking up A Dance With Dragons when it's published.
What was strange was that it didn't feel like your typical pilot, which try to get a strangle-hold on it's audience from the start. A bit slower, not much action, taking more time to introduce most of the characters, than usual.
In my book it's a good thing, but I'm not sure it will capture any viewers that haven't read the books.
It captured me, and I haven't read the books. However, I am a fan of fantasy in general, and also willing to put in the time and effort to try to understand a more complex tv show.
In Spain, released 9 of may, will be shown by Digital +, a cable or satellite channel, but sometime after will be shown by a conventional channel, it isn't the same in the USA and UK?
Just watched the second episode - totally hooked now. Excellent writing, acting, and production values.
Incidentally, I also watched the first three episodes of Starzz's "Camelot." I was pretty psyched, because I love Eva Green and Joseph Fiennes. However, it has terrible writing, uneven acting, and shoddy production values. Ah well!

I saw it. It was good. Not the strongest start ever of an HBO drama, but its a high budget fantasy drama on HBO--and that's pretty good.
Yes, I too have to wait for the DVD set. Sigh.
