Anyway, regarding the King Conan film - yes, it's about 20 years too late - but hey it could still be cool. So much up in the air, but in my mind I'm envisioning an older Conan with Conn at his side (played by Arnold's son, naturally) - with a heavy dose of flashbacks. Bonus points if you can get Gerry Lopez back as a Subotai cameo.
Thanks man! You can't leave a comment on Arcane Arts, its basically a newsletter deployment platform. But I welcome them here. Subtotai cameo would be freaking great.
Re: the "King Conan" film - no disrespect to Schwarzenegger, but I think he's too old to play Conan at this point.
Just look at poor Harrison Ford in the disaster that was "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" (an elderly actor trying unsuccessfully to reprise an iconic role, with no vision guiding the film) to see what could happen with the "King Conan" movie.
I'd rather see a film adaption of one of REH's *other* characters. Bran Mak Morn is crying out for a good film adaption, Turlough O'Brien and Dark Agnes also have potential. I think a director like Robert Eggers or Guillermo del Toro would respect REH's work and could make a good REH film
