War Pigs, Judas Priest

Easy call this Metal Friday. A fantastic Judas Priest tribute to the great Black Sabbath, who are playing their final show this weekend.

Glenn Tipton in there too? Outstanding.

Sabbath is at the end. Priest is nearing the end. At this point all the great classic heavy metal bands are in their twilight.

But I'm grateful to have lived through it--and Priest still sounds pretty awesome here. I hope Ozzy still has a bit in the tank for his final show.

It's so sad that the old guard is on its way out. But the good news is there are plenty of great bands that are keeping that classic metal sound alive. You won't find them by reading the popular metal tabloids, but they are out there if you know where to look. I think it's important to support these bands, because they are the future of metal.

I'm trying, but not hard enough, Ian. I do like a few newer bands but admit that my default position is breaking out the old classics. Hard to teach this old dog new riffs (I'm proud I just came up with that :).
